Moon's Unicorns

The race of unicorns is considered one of the extinct species of the world, having once roamed the planet and then disappeared. There is no longer any memory or proof of their existence in recorded human history. And yet there are still some few members of the race who managed to survive and continue to live: the Moon's Unicorns. They keep their real identities secret from people, and no one knows of their existence. At the same time, they are desperate to discover what happened to their old civilization, for they know only very little of the stories and legends about their ancestors that had been passed down through thousands of years, they know that they once ruled the earth for eons, until the Unicorns Civil War, and that they were then hunted to extinction by the humans, before the Great Flood erased all traces of their civilization from history.

And so they are continuously searching for more information about the Age of Unicorns, trying to put together the pieces from the speech of the last unicorn, who they believe contains the secrets of their race, their past, their civilization, and the prophecies of their future. Some of this speech is currently in the hands of the descendants of the remaining unicorn tribes, who are scattered all over the world. Thus they are on a never-ending adventure in search of the text of this speech, though they are also very careful to keep their true identities and their superpowers secret from the humans surrounding them.

Normally, unicorns are possessed of mighty powers that humans do not have, but every month, when the moon is full, they become even more powerful, able to use those powers between sunset and sunrise for three whole nights until the full moon begins to wane. This is why they are called Moon's Unicorns. Alongside the unicorns live members of the secondary race, that of the maligans, whose ancestors also lived during the Age of Unicorns. They, too, have superpowers, but not so strong as those of the unicorns. The maligans, according to their own inherited legends, know that humans wiped their ancestors off the face of the earth, and they also know that they were once enslaved by the unicorns. And so, they are always inclined to evil, wishing to exact revenge on both humans and unicorns and to instigate conflict between the two, in the hopes that one day their own race will come to rule the world.
